NHS lab assistant shift patterns

My local hospital advertises lab assistant jobs with 'participate in 24 hour rota' without giving any hint what that actually looks like. I am flexible and I work evenings, weekends, bank holidays in my current job but I feel like wanting a rough idea of the shift pattern (how many weekends? how many earlies/lates/nights? do they do compressed hours?) isn't a ridiculous ask?

I did email and ask once and got the same thing about it being a 24-hour service in reply rather than an actual answer so maybe it is! I'm wary of making myself appear inflexible when I'm really not.

Do I just apply, show up to a potential interview, ask them in person and go 'nah, too many Saturdays for me, sorry'? Feels like a total waste of everybody's time. Is there any sort of standard shift pattern? Is it something that gets negotiated around people's preferences at all or do you just get what you're given? Saturday morning is my least favourite shift but I'm happy to work Saturday evening, for example.

I have not worked in labs but I have worked at a few hospitals.

One manager I had basically let staff chose their own hours as long as the department was covered. I chose longer days and a half day off, another worked term time only.

Another department had part time staff, half worked Mon -Wed morning, then different staff Wed pm - Fri.

So I would say apply and ask at interview.
