Hey im a single mum,no family near by and no extra help from the farther.
Im a trained massage / beauty therapist but with my situation on my own, ive been advised working in a school for the holidays and hours will be the best way forward. I can't stop thinking about the future and want to possibly train and do my own massage clients again but I am very aware of my situation. Anybody else in the same situation? Any advice

I’m not clear - are you a teacher? What could you do in a school? Is there a school job on the cards for you?

Can you do both? Build up a few clients for extra money and do your main job (poss part-time as there are often PT school jobs near where I am) in school time.

I was a lone parent with no help. You need to do what’s best for you for your happiness plus what will make you life the easier. There’s no point working in a school if you don’t want to do that sort of thing also it means you never get a break from kids as you drop yours off to look after other people’s during school hours.

I worked pt and studied and then full time using childcare. It’s completely doable.

if I had had a previous job as you have which I had enjoyed I would go back to that. The good thing would be if you were then self employed maybe as a mobile beautician or something like that then you pick the days and times you work around your children.

Are there any college or training courses available to you?

How old is your DC? Do you have more than one? If they're quite young and you have a couple term time working could be really useful. Even if you were to do that now it doesn't mean you couldn't go back to the beauty/massage side later.
