Worried about AI affecting my job and future prospects

I been playing around with AI lately and very frightened how accurate it has become. It can record minutes notes and analysing documents and highlights key points etc. I am very worried about my job and future prospects. Is there any hope?

Only if governing bodies take it as seriously as it is and make legislation against the use of it to replace people, which is already happening. AI doesn't pay taxes or make the world go round by buying and selling, and the people who say "oh but it'll make life so nice as people won't HAVE to work" are dreamers, there'd be a few wealthy people who own the AI and the working classes will dwindle and do worse jobs that AI can't do and the wealthy won't do. The fact that there are so many jobs in the western world anyway, to people of all backgrounds that enable one to earn more money than they need to subsist (usually) has actually been in place for such a brief period of modern human history, it's utterly depressing to see it go this way.

Theres a great bit in a Terry Pratchett novel from.decades ago, where an army of automaton style people shaped golems are uncovered buried in a desert. Some of the characters are amazed and want them to.come to the city as they could basically do any job, don't need to be paid, don't need time off, as they're machines. The ruler of the city takes one look and has them bury themselves again. He explains that they would bankrupt the city not make it rich, that people are what makes other peoples lives and livelihoods possible.

We're fucked, basically.

Young people can re-train to a degree, but a lot of employers are incredibly fussy with who they take on, and someone changing career in their 40s and beyond will certainly not be in their top people to hire list. I've worked in two workplaces where one team was almost exclusively made up of people who were 22 - 25 years old when they were first hired. Age discrimination was incredibly obvious.

I think we'll see a massive reduction in administration assistants, receptionists, personal assistants, just to start with. People are already using A.I to take minutes, summarise notes, write emails, order drinks even. Machine have replaces staff in libraries and surgery receptions. I went to an interview where there was no reception or receptionist, just a screen. Some people say that all of it will enable companies to scale-up faster and hire more people faster.....but I haven't seen any figures that show how much that will happen, and the end goal will still be to replace people completely.

The only thing that will prevent some big CEO from replacing absolutely everyone, is that many of them have large egos and having their own mini-kingdom they can walk around like a lord or king won't have the same buzz if they don't have human beings to witness it and defer to them.

I'm having the same feeling now as I did in December or January 2020 before covid hit here.

Some jobs will be impacted yes, but other new roles will emerge due to it, ie in the ai field. The world will simply evolve, and skill sets will need to change, for example when cars were invented the farriers said they were fucked, they were, but new roles for mechanics and to build the cars, petrol stations emerged
