My son is at uni. He’s AuDHD and very creative, studying music tech. He’s also a fairly committed goth - all in black, you know the look. He really needs a job. Partly for his own benefit and partly because we are struggling to financially support him in the holidays as well as term time. He has applied for millions of jobs and got nowhere. I appreciate the employment market is really tough at the moment, but I think he’ll also always struggle when up against more conventionally presenting and socially confident candidates. He has worked before at a summer camp for SEN children, but he found this very difficult as he has his own sensory issues and some of this children needed help with toileting etc. He can be chatty and is very bright, but can be v black and white in his thinking. Can anyone think of any employers who are likely to be more inclusive and just give him a chance?
