Losing motivation

I can pre face this by saying that I have always been a work to live type person. Lately I have found my motivation at work is gradually dropping off. due to the state of the economy the two last people to leave the team have not been replaced and the balance of work is divvied up between those that are left.

Management do not seem very good at getting more out of the lesser performing members of the team and typically work that are not getting through on time if handed over to us better performing team members. I am finding myself putting less effort in because all I get in return is more work rather than a bit of breathing space.

The job itself is good for fitting around children and I find it sufficiently interesting but lately I have been meh about how the team is being run. Middle management has also been thinned out so I cannot even blame our manager that much because they are stretched too.

I have no intention of quiet qutting because I have a conscience. Dropping myself down to 75-80% of my optimal capacity feels a fair compromise.

Anybody else?
