Who else is worried about AI?

AI is supposed to get rid of:

Reconciliations
Processing accounts payable
Board pack production
Checking data
Month end
Etc etc

Supposed to leave us to do the "higher level" stuff.

My entire career has been based on the stuff that is going.

I've not worked in practice, however

I do all of this on Sage, is there going to be an AI element added to Sage? Genuinely interested in this. I mean it would be good as a 'helper' but I wouldn't trust AI to do my job fully.

I’m in practice and so far not too worried - the AI so far has not proven particularly ‘I’, especially if there is any nuance.

Same here, in fact probably takes longer explaining to clients just where the AI has got it wrong than it would have taken to just do the job in the first place!

@topcat2014 this isnt my area of finance but in my company they are trialling out AI to do this. It looks like it will take a while to perfect, then those doing it are 'meant' to review it. However im sure as the system gets perfected, you wont need as many AP staff. In the current climate everyone is looking to cut roles. Id say its a long way off, maybe a year. I've tried implementing AI into my role but its hit and miss so I think its far better with routine tasks.
