I'm depressed about being depressed! Refused for the second time to do Pt at school. Wanted to do 80% over 5 days so really just shorter days. Have 2 gorgeous boys. Feeling so overwhelmed with it all doc put me on citalopram. Now I can't sleep. Things are significantly worse. Should I tell my boss I'm taking these? Wouldn't it sound petty/ bitter? Help.....

I wouldn't tell the boss anything about your medical condition - more likely to prejudice him/her against you.

I would (a) talk to your union and (b) look for another job. If you can find a friend to jobshare with you could apply for a 1.0 job between you if you're a primary classroom teacher. If secondary, there are p/t jobs in most subjects.

Also, can you save time in other ways? Eg get a cleaner?

Working part time may be considered a reasonable adjustment if you tell them you have depression. Would speak to your union if you have one about mental health, the DDA and reasonable adjustments
