I’m really not sure if I’m selling myself short or about to make a terrible mistake. Basically I’m a teacher in an international school and love my team, but I’m being paid about £23k pa as it’s a very impoverished country. I am a HoD so have a lot of extra work to do as well as planning/marking; zero time to do tutoring on the side. I want to look for a new job abroad but I’m worried that I’m making a huge mistake as I have a fantastic non-toxic work environment and although we are badly resourced, the kids here are lovely, tiny class sizes etc. There’s no guarantee the next place will be as non-toxic but I’ll definitely be paid more. Mainly I’m concerned that I can’t put anywhere near enough in my pension atm so as nice as this is, it’s not helping me when I come to retire. WWYD?
