How do you learn Microsoft copilot?

Can anyone direct me to some sort of training to help me learn how you use this for reports.
I need something a child could understand.
I've googled but going round in circles.

There's not much you need to learn really. Just tell copilot what you want it to do.

You could actually ask copilot how to use it. Seriously. Tell it what you want to do and explain you’re not sure what instructions it needs.

Ive started building agents/chatbots for work and didn’t have a clue what to do so just asked the AI what I needed to do and it talked me through it.

Ask Copilot to give you a list of training resources. There's loads out there.

Do you have access to MS Learn through work - that is quite useful

Also - as @JulietteHasAGun says ask Copilot. Tell it what your job is. what you need to do and ask it how it can help you. If you don't understand any of the answer, ask it to explain. And you can ask it to keep it as simple as possible. That's one of the easiest ways to pick it up.

If you have a full license, you should also have access to an agent called Prompt coach and you can ask it 'I need a prompt to do X, what should it include' and it will guide you through the process.

If you're producing reports, Analysis or Research agents could be good for helping you, although I wouldn't use them to fully produce anything that's going outside the business or for official reporting purposes. But it can help you make a start in the very least.

There are a couple of practical features it’s worth knowing. It keeps a list of your conversations which you may want to delete, or alternatively to go back a reuse one. I delete ones that went badly, but leave ones that worked well so I can see the refinement of my question. The button is top left of the CoPilot window (on mine at least).

Each time you ask it to do something, you learn a better way to have asked. It really is learn by doing. I get it to tidy information up for me. Check the wording of an email. Design an invitation for an event, in a simple modern style using greens.

Just ask it what you need to know - literally type in 'do a report on this data' and drag and drop or copy and paste rhe data in.

When you get the results back and it's too wordy or not enough detail say - 'bullet point this information' or 'give me a summary on two paragraphs' or 'create a pdf with graphs and a summary of this information' and it will do it.

Obviously double check anything it does churn out for accuracy

I agree, give it some context and do challenge it if you're not happy with the suggestion. They are very people pleasey!

I think it's a dialogue and it takes a while to figure out how best to use it.

I find it very useful though.

Give it word count, who audience is, etc.

Sounds like I need to just play around with it. Bit wary though as I'm thinking it's ultimately going to make me redundant....

If you are made redundant, who is going to prompt/use Copilot?

I really like datacamp (online training platform) courses on AI. Really useful. I think you can do a free trial.

You just tell it what you want it to do - ‘re-write/check/add this…’ and then, in my case, it usually tells me to come back later as its priority is paying customers or something. Then I use ChaTGPT instead which is miles better, but our sharepoint at work has copilot on it so we’re supposed to use that.

Be careful…our allowed AI tool is copilot - because data stays within our organisation. We are explicitly not allowed to use any other tool……

Its a pile if shit, and does't know what its doing. Ive had to argue with it everytime ive tried, because it get stuff so wrong.
Ask it to write something with a date in one month from now - gives me 4 weeks. Ask it how to get the spellchecker back on outlook and it tells me to go to menus that arent there.
Im not sure how much clearer it wants me to be in the request!
