Unadvertised promotions

There's no answer to this but have no one to talk to. All other managers on my reporting line have now been promoted to higher grades. Logged in to see another announcement today. Wasnt advertised. Its honorary. Team leader and the others worked together in a different part of the company and leader brought them in one by one after joining and promotions have followed. Its the sadness of always trying but never saying and doing and being whats needed. There's no answer. Age and brain death due to perimenopause mean leaving isnt an option.

Have you had conversations with your manager(s) about wanting to progress and found out what you need to do or achieve to make that happen?

Yes I have and its vague and no timeframe even when i have proposed it theres no commitment. What is disappointing is that team leader has set up newest manager for this promotion thro how have coached them since they joined but I haven't got that no matter how I have asked.

You say you can't leave due to brain death from perimenopause, could that be having an effect in your current role?

Can't say for certain but when I observe that all the others are approx same age, same country, same original team and compare to me being older, different timezone and not connected via previous roles it has to be a challenge. I'll keep going, I have a high performing team that out performs the others so no one can say i haven't shown I can exceed my current role.
