Left the NHS for remote work on a similar salary?

Has anyone left a career in the NHS to find something different (or similar but not in the NHS) with a similar salary, or more? I work full time at the top of band 7 - with half the week on-site and half the week at home. The days I’m home are a lot more productive and I enjoy being able to crack on with things rather than being micromanaged by two band 8’s.

I have 30 years of service in the NHS (not nursing) and have worked in this role for 3 years. Travelling costs are going up so that’s not good.

I am wondering if I’d be better leaving the NHS. I think I’d like a remote role (based out of London, if possible).

Is this a pipe dream?? I’m early 50’s! I can’t carry on in the NHS. We are severely short staffed (staff have left and not been replaced; others are on long term sick due to work stress). This trust seems particularly bad for it (I won’t name them).

Open to ideas. I live alone, with a mortgage, so need my current salary. Thinking of leaving, freezing my NHS pension (so I can get the lump sum at 60 and the 95 section payments). Could probably take a pay cut then.

Have a strong background in quality and governance.

Are you a qualified clinician by background? I left NHS mental health to work for a private therapy provider: 100% remote, lots of flexibility and a far better work/life balance (though insurer requirements come with their own stresses)

I haven’t left but I am in the process of training in aesthetics. I’m a prescriber so I hope that will be helpful as will my background because I’m the aesthetics world I’m a ‘medic’. In my head, it will allow me to reduce my nhs days & increase aesthetics days. It’s early yet in terms of business building so I only do a Saturday a few times a month. I’m not really in a hurry right now.’

Defo remember to freeze pension, I didn't and now a band lower so need to try and get an band higher in next 10 years to make the most of 1995 pension.
