Do teaching assistants usually have fixed-term contracts without notice periods?

I have been applying for TA jobs. One of my friend who is a TA said she had Fixed term contracts year after year for two years. She mentioned that she recently realised there were no notice periods or break clauses.

Do TA's usually get pure fixed term contracts?. What if they score a good job during the contract period and want to leave?.Is there a general notice period or Will this be a breach if you leave before the contract ends?

TAs taken on are often on yearly contracts now as it’s easier to get rid of them. They usually have a one month notice period.

One month’s notice in my area or finish on date specified on contract. If contract renewed then you get a letter stating the new finish date. Most 1:1 contracts also say “while the child is at the school”, so the TA could be finished earlier if child moves school (this usually doesn’t happen as a decent TA will be redeployed if at all possible, but it’s an extra get-out clause for schools if the TA hasn’t performed as expected).
So yes, if a TA gets another job they can move, after minimum notice period served.
