Anyone else waiting to hear if they’ve been shortlisted?

I’m currently employed and have no major rush to move. I applied for a job in the NHS which closed just under 4 weeks ago, status still says ‘application submitted’. As I said I’m not in a massive rush as I’m employed but this job is more money, would give me a better work/life balance and I really want it.
Is anyone else impatiently waiting?

I work in NHS recruitment and it could be a number of things.

It could be that you’re on the interview reserve list - you don’t usually get notified of this.

It could be that someone ‘at risk’ has applied for the role - they get priority shortlisting and interview, which can take a week or 2.

They might have managers on leave and no one else to shortlist.

I’d suggest contacting them for an update.

I’ve just submitted an internal application (higher ed). Closing date tomorrow and hopefully interview before I go on holiday at the end of the month. I’ve got a 1:1 with the Dean tomorrow and can’t decide whether to let him know. Actually am quite happy where I am but know from my earlier career I can do more.

I applied for a pretty speculative consulting role and haven’t heard about that yet. I think they had a line saying they wouldn’t contact you if you didn’t progress due to high application numbers - 1. That’s rude. 2. I don’t really know where all of these specialists would come from, but hey ho.

I also submitted an expression of interest for something that I’m more keen on. I think it’s an unpaid role, but it’s something that would support my profession and that would hopefully utilise my skillset well.

I am well kind of... I have been applying to a range of entry level positions since April. I was offered a role on Monday to start this week.

However, I have a lot of applications under review with the Civil Service and Train companies.

I got to a second stage interview with a luxury retailer but haven't heard back.

I think it's a shame there's not a quick way employers could let you know what's happening with your application.
