Possible Redundancy and panicking

Could be happening soon and I have worked for a bank for the last 21 years and panicking at 47 that employers won’t hire me due to my age.

I can barely sleep or eat for worrying.

I’m so sorry :( I was made redundant recently and it’s just the worst feeling. I’m disabled and have to work remotely too so am seriously struggling to find another employer willing to take me on.

That must be so scary. Banks are closing everywhere. You must have a lot of transferable skills. Update your CV asap. Start looking around. There probably won't be banking vacancies but you might find insurance or something customer services related. Personally I'd start cutting back on anything you can just in case and put money back for savings. You'll get redundancy but it won't last forever and the job market is not good ATM. Your age at 46 shouldn't hold you back though. It's when people get to about 55 employers are more reluctant to hire. If look and start applying for jobs now. Don't wait until your job is gone. Good luck.
