Line managers who don’t line manage

they have no idea how to manage and rely on others to keep the team together !

Been there. It’s rubbish. I was about to lodge a formal grievance when lockdown happened. My team was split shortly afterwards and I chose the other team.

Yup…& he gets a bonus based on MY performance. I don’t get a bonus - it’s disgusting. And his pay is 4x mine.

Every time I tell him something has been ballsed up by someone else in his team he
looks up at me from his scrolling FB pages and implies I am disturbing him 🤔🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Oh yes, just leaving one. Took 26 months to see the situation for what it is.

Absolute bell end him and the head. He tried to forget a back to work interview, came out with the most unprofessional stuff, then he tried to call me in for a first concern sickness interview outside of dates, his incompetence goes on. Even today I’ve had to ask why’ve you’ve taken me out of this line?

Essex County Council = no margin of error. Disgraceful only last Autumn I was being awarded a £100 of ‘public money’? only to reach November of same year when mistakes were picked up… how on earth did I qualify for an award to begin with?

I’ll prepare for them to f**k up my next pay cos that is what they do.

I’m seriously considering moving on because of them but I love the other people I work with , I’m well established in the company but always second to them but more competent as a manager !
They get all the glory , I do the hard work.

I hate this sort of thinking, it is exactly what causes all the friction at workplaces. If you think you are better then find such a job elsewhere.
