New Job

I’ve just got an offer of a new job as a teaching assistant. They’ve said they’ll be in touch to do a DBS check, references and qualification certificates.

The problem is. I’ve no idea where my certificates are. I done my GCSE’s 19 years ago. I also have no idea what exam board. Is this likely to affect my offer? I do have a level 5 qualification, I have the certificate of that. But the essential criteria of the post said GCSE maths and English. Will they accept the level 5 in place of it? Or am I going to have to try and obtain my GCSEs off the exam board?

Expect you’ll need the proof. Are you still in touch with anyone you went to school? The school should know which exam boards were used then.
Teachers need to have GCSE maths and English above a certain grade.
Well done on getting the role.

AQA was one of them

Email the school

either way you should contact your school and start the process of getting copy certificates

Id show the school the level 5. And id also show them the email you have sent to your old school and explain the situation. I suspect they would let you onboard pending verification of the certificates at a later date

Usually AQA and Edexcel
