One of the senior managers at my workplace is, I feel, a poor communicator. He'll ask for me to do something, but not give me enough information and if I ask for it (if no one else has the information except him), he isn't forthcoming with that information. He can be really cold, but very friendly the next minute, but is mostly cold. He seems to get exasperated at my attempts to get information from him to do my job, but there really isn't anywhere else I can get the information from, and the email trails he usually sends me to read to start a task are often chaotic and missing key information. I almost told him yesterday that I'm not a mind reader, but held back. Im feeling really fed up, stressed and depressed at work and I'm looking for something else but in the meantime what can I do? I feel that he or his manager won't be open to constructive criticism and there's no one above them I can talk to.
