New role with same local authority: transfer or leaver and starter?

Transferring roles, same employer.

I was offered a new role in a different team and service unit for the same employer (local authority). Am I leaver and new starter or is it always a transfer?

In terms of prebooked holidays, am I right this still remains prebooked? Does notice period still apply?

I have moved roles several times in my public sector role, always internal transfer. Same email, staff number etc. When moving teams it was a discussion with the line manager about pre existing leave to confirm it would be honoured. It’s not guaranteed but in my experience line managers try to honour it. Notice period still applies but may be more flexible.

I’ve done this quite a lot. As far as I was aware everything transfers. Pension, holiday entitlement etc. I would expect them to honour holidays booked. Yes, same notice period unless you are very much changing roles where you would expect a very different contract, eg teaching to admin. Clearly the contract terms would be different. What has your employer said? You don’t want to be a new starter in terms of conditions of service.
