Hi, I'm wanting to transition from a Developer to a process business analyst. Does anyone have any ideas how I can build up experience / a portfolio please?

The obvious answer is to seek out opportunities within your existing company. Can you shadow an existing analyst? Do you work on a scrum team where you could offer to take on some of the analysis work or to get involved at an earlier stage of the project?

I'd say the main difference between being a developer and an analyst is that you are more focussed on the motivations rather than the "how do I build it".

Do you know what sort of area you want to focus in? It's a big field.

I'm not currently working but my previous role was a developer (sorry should have been clearer).

I think i'd like to do automation/rpa business analysis for the public sector.
