Bad interview

I had a job interview yesterday for my dream job! And I messed up!! I've been so mad at myself since yesterday! I couldn't answer the question as I wanted to and I couldn't deliver my thoughts!! It was an online interview and it just took 13 minutes! So I believe they did not liked me and didn't want to continue any longer ! I emailed them today and explain that I wasn't as good as I wanted because I was working late yesterday (Friday) and I was so tired 😩.
I feel so useless... I just finished my PGCE course and while all of my classmates found a job, I just got an interview and ruined it !! Life is su... 😭😭

I’m really sorry to hear this and all I can say is that you’ll take all of this learning and do a much better interview next time, but did you practice A LOT with people before the interview and did you use the STAR model? Practicing out loud makes a huge difference and will give you extra confidence. You say you just got an interview - is that because you’ve not applied or because you’re never called for interview? If the latter, maybe you can do some work on your applications with someone else. I’m really old now and I’ve had loads of jobs and I’ve relied heavily on practicing out loud and having people look over my applications, etc. The very best of luck.

PS it’s tough out there.

Was it for a teaching job?

I have applied for about 20 jobs , I really tried to apply for the jobs that suits me and not apply for any job. I feel like it's an impossible work to do.. Most of my classmates they even didn't apply any job as they had already connection... I feel so frustrated and lost :(

It was more like a supporting job, I have applied for teaching job but never heard anything back... I think most of job application are some sort of scam as they hiring team already know who they want but they still need to advertise to make it more official :(

Sorry to hear that. IME short interviews are usually the interviewer going through the motions to reach a quota. Just take them all as experience and learn from it.

No interview is bad, only practice ❤️

you always kiss some frogs along the way but can end up with good’en.

Things can change in an instance; January 2026 was offered a full-time role for just a year, May 2026 a perm Job part time. This time last year I had a contract up to end of year. 2025.

For me it seems to be impossible to find a job!! I spent so much time on job applications... But I'm loosing my hope ... :(
