I was paid back a lot of tax a few months ago due to issues with work transferring over to a new pay system. It showed I’d paid more tax that I actually had. Work wouldn’t give me a new payslip and this resulted in the huge rebate. I’ve contacted HMRC 3 times who insist it’s correct. I’ve even written a letter with my concerns and they phoned back to see the rebate is correct.
just got my P60 and in line with last amounts on my payslip which is approx £32K in tax. Counting up the amounts on my payslip I think I’ve paid about £18K in tax. What should I do now? Insist work issues a new P60? Will HMRC check it in the coming months? I went from a really low personal allowance code to a higher personal allowance toward end of year?
