Temp of 38° and feeling lousy… work?

Huge sickness bug going around at work (primary school) and yesterday I started feeling really nauseous myself. Had a temperature of 38.3 yesterday but went in today anyway mainly because I felt guilty not to.

Managed to get through the day but honestly feel absolutely dreadful tonight and my temperature is still 38.

Do I just admit defeat and take tomorrow off to rest? I’m terrible at taking sick days and always convince myself I should push through, but equally I don’t want to make myself worse (or spread it around school if it is the bug!).

Does anyone else struggle with the guilt of taking time off when ill?

You got to look after yourself in this world, cos no one else will.

If you need to go to bed that is what you need do.

The manager of the county Council call centre could’d care less whether I woke up and hacked up my lungs up before a surgeon thought this and your boiling temp sounds like nf when I just wanted to die. If I’d left it any longer my left leg would have gone.

Then the head of dept had the audacity to come after me after answering calls for 5 weeks before Xmas with a chest infection claiming presentism - oh the joker / third time of sick no idea what happens really. But if I’m at deaths door again I won’t give a fuck 🤡

There is no role in school which isn’t coverable including the head. Your health is more important than a few days at work. Take the day off. Sleep, rest, take some paracetmol and drink loads of water.
