I applied for a dream job, passed a round of tests and was invited to an informal chat with the Director. I spent ages prepping, logged into the call and then I saw it - I thought the call started at 12:15, but it actually ended at 12:15.

There was no diary invite, it was just an email inviting me to a teams call at 12:00 - 12:15 and I read the time wrong and I missed it.

I am mortified - I spoke to the recruitment team who are going to ask for the Directors availability to reschedule but I feel like a total arse. Is there any coming back from this?

It depends on the director. I would understand and give another chance, some people wouldn't.

It's out of your control now so just learn from it (I'm sure you'll be quadruple checking in future!) and move on.

Don’t Teams invites normally put the meeting in your calendar automatically when you accept them?

in any event - it might not be the end of the world. These things happen. Hopefully then can reschedule and you can just apologise to the interviewer.

I’m interviewing for several roles at the moment and if this happened with a candidate that I was otherwise keen on, I probably wouldn’t hold it against them

Thank you - no it was done through a virtual booking system that didn't send calendar invites, but nonetheless completely my fault. I just have to cross everything now!

They've rebooked it for tomorrow! I absolutely cannot mess it up this time..

It wasn't like it was a face to face presentation that was due to take an hour and he was sitting in a meeting room waiting for you? So it's not the end of the world.
I don't know anything about Teams but if it was at 12 wouldn't they try and call you if you didn't come onto the teams thing?

Anyway good luck!
