Accepting one job offer while waiting for another interview

I've been offered a job and they want confirmation by tomorrow, that I can start on June 1st. The thing is I have an interview on Wednesday for another role which is much better suited. What should I do, there's no guarantee I will get the second job.

Thank you :)

I know plenty of people who had a call after the rejection call, saying "the original candidate fell through, do you want the job?" and they've had long happy careers, so I wouldn't worry about letting job 1 down. Whether you accept verbally and plan to just disappoint them if you get a better offer, or tell them to wait might be sector specific. I think I'd be tempted to say yes, because at the moment you are available 1st June. If things change, change your answer. It's just part of doing business.

I actually had a similar question. What happens if a contract is signed with number 1 and what then if you start work to the notice period.
