I've been with my current company since September 2026, so not long. Don't want to be too outing but it's a media business (SME) that recently divided into an events company and the pure publishing side of the business - I'm on that side. It's really struggling and got worse since the bloody Iran war because that's impacted everyone's marketing budgets. Now I've heard rumours of layoffs. I doubt it will affect me because I'm already doing three people's jobs (because we are no longer commissioning anything out) and am so stretched I can't take on anything else - but I am worried the company is going to fold and I won't get anything because I've not been there long. Would it be sensible to start exploring other options? I do really like the job and the company.
