I have a job interview soon for a school, I will be doing a reading task as a lesson, there will be a small number of children, the it’s not a mainstream school. I the interview will be with ks1/2 children. Can anyone help? I’m not sure what to do with children with such an age range.

Have they given you information about the actual ages and needs of the children? You’d be well within your rights to clarify this before the interview.
A typical reading task might include the teacher reading to the children, the children reading independently, and then doing some questions about what they have read. Depending on how much time you have, the questions could be discussed with a partner first and then written.
I think you need to ask about ages and abilities first though. And how much time you have.

I have asked but they said they can’t say for sure which children I would have so just make it adaptable all I no is it will be 4 children of mixed ability. That’s why I’m a bit stuck

In which case, I would include lots of role play and props. Find a children’s book you genuinely enjoy and you could read a page and then the children act it out. I’m thinking similar to Michael Rosen’s Bear Hunt but not that because they’ll already know it.

Maybe have some differentiated questions up your sleeve in case they turn out to be more able than you expect.
