I do, I have a chronic condition (MH).

Do I say that?

Have never been honest before so should I change this?

God no. Get your feet under the table and the contract signed before you tell them anything like that. People on here will tell you different but come on, this is the real world.

No way. It’s hard enough to find a job; don’t put yourself at a disadvantage before you even begin.

If its civil service i'd tell them up front (I did. it caused no problem at all with my application)

Public sector, yes.

Yes, I do, and would not declare it on a (hypothetical) job app I'm afraid, not if I wanted the job.

The only issue is, should you have problems down the line and need time off or an assessment with OH, this might come back to bite you that you didn’t disclose it - I guess it depends who the employee is.

Are you applying for a job that your chronic mental health condition will impede from being able to do?

I think it generally asks you that question as you may be guaranteed an interview if you have a disability so I guess in some situations it may be beneficial. I guess if everyone who had MH issues ticked yes though there could be significant numbers of people to interview seeing as MH issues are very widespread.
Are they asking you this question on the initial application or on an Occupational health form?

Yes - never had a problem getting a job (mines also MH)

Well I checked with AI as I was up against it to submit and it advised saying yes because apparently this is just for stats, not the hiring manager. It doesnt ask what the disability is. This is public sector yes.

Is the employer disability confident? If so and you have a disability it will help your application if you put yes.
