Working while with universal credit

Hi everyone,
I’m a single mum of two children (aged 7 and 8), currently working part-time with set hours in my contract. I rent a private property and receive housing support towards my rent.
At the moment, I earn less than £14,000 a year, but if I increase my contracted hours, my income would go up to around £17,500. I really need the extra income since their father is no longer paying maintenance.
I’m worried that earning more might reduce or stop my help with rent and some of my Universal Credit support.
Has anyone been in a similar situation after increasing their hours? Did it work out better financially overall? I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences.
Thank you,
Mania

You are better off working with UC if you aren’t earning much. You’ll get most of the same help as now.
