Will NHS references include recent sickness absence from my current job?

About a month ago I had 9 days off sick. I got a sick note from the GP etc and I was off sick due to a health issue that should soon be resolved when I've had surgery. I've just been offered a new job in the NHS - do they ask for sick records or is my manager allowed to disclose this on a reference?
Thank you.

NHS references ask for number of days sickness absence, usually in last 2 years.
Yes your manager is allowed to answer factual questions in a reference.

I don’t think nine days is anything to worry about, especially over a one year period.
