5 week notice?

Hello,

Sorry my mind is so muddled, I have had a succession of fixed term contracts with same employer to get to two years under my belt before landing the job as perm. (no recruitment agency involved)

Does the clock start from the day I set foot in the work place or from when my last contract was started. I'm sure though I may have seen the word continuous used?

In the most recent contract it displays that they are wanting 5 weeks notice once you go past the 2nd year anniversary, would that be from when the job term changed or as I'm thinking from the first date of stepping foot in the work place.

I'm just confusing myself as I'm sure I've fought with family in the event I'm made redundant that would only be from when the job went perm as I'd be the easiest to get rid off compared to the long termers with many more years behind them. I can't say I've seen many colleagues work a 5 week notice.

If you’ve been there as an employee continuously for 2 years then it’s from when you first started
