How to estimate cleaning time and set fair hourly rates?

I clean for a couple of family members but now there neighbours are asking me to clean for them how do I work out how long it would take me as to know what to charge them ..IE I love cleaning so in my house I can take as long as I like break off to go shops phone calls etc so from a professional point of view how do u do it or so u say this is what I will do in 2 hours ? Hope I’ve explained myself correctly thanks

There are two ways to approach it, you can either price for the job and make a list of everything you'll complete for the price, agreed in advance with the the client. Or you can charge by the hour, and you just do as much as you can within that timeframe.

You can also have categories of cleaning, i.e. a basic clean includes XYZ and an enhanced clean includes XYZ plus windows, bins etc, and then a deep clean includes all of that plus behind furniture, detail cleaning etc.

Look around Facebook pages of local cleaners and see how they are structuring their pricing and what's included.
