hi all,

I had an interview 2 weeks ago and was told I got an offer. Waited a couple days for contracts etc and then got a call from the agency that a senior member would also like to interview me. Anyway I had the interview exactly a week ago and just haven’t heard back. I reached out to the agency and apparently they haven’t heard back either. I had some tech issues at the 2nd interview where my equipment died on me and I immediately dialled back in and tried to be professional. I’m wondering if that’s why I have been ghosted? Any ideas on what to do? It’s been a week exactly since the last interview but it’s just gone silent. Should I just leave it :( I really wanted the job.

i very much doubt that’s why if you handled it professionally. From what you’ve said, it’s a disorganised company that you’re better away from. Someone has offered the job before official permission to do so or the senior member doesn’t care about that and wanted to see you anyway. If you wish, chase the agency again but you can’t do anything more than that.

If they mess you around when they want to win you over, what do you think they’ll be like once they’ve won you over? I’d change my narrative to thinking that you really want the job you thought it was. Not what it actually was.

Thank you so much I really needed to hear this. Still can’t help but feel let down, things are not great at my current workplace so was looking forward to getting out. I can’t chase the agency anymore as I have now chased twice so don’t want to come off as a pest. I did consider reaching out to the hiring manager but I think I’ll just leave it as suggested. The job hunting continues I guess, thank you

That’s crap, I agree with PP that this company sounds very disorganised and unprofessional. You can’t offer someone a job and then interview them again. As frustrating as it is, it might have been a blessing in disguise. Good luck for the job hunt!

Sounds like they've had reevaluate the job, maybe they are experiencing financial difficulties. I've been laid off because there wasn't enough work for me, also a lad in the site office. But I have a sneaky suspicion either they or the contractor they work for is going bust.
