Best Union to join for private sector?

It’s not been announced yet but the company I have worked at for many years is due to be sold within the next couple of years. I know this often means redundancy, restructuring etc so I thought it might be good to join a union. Does anyone recommend a certain union for the private sector they’ve had good experiences with?

It matters what sector you work in. And also im not sure what help youre hoping for?

The micro managing council boss doesn’t get but they soon will. (I’m sure this site will fully support them) but I’m beyond caring.

It depends on what you do. Maybe use the TUC union finder to draw up your shortlist and then ask for views on the relevant unions?
