Losing shifts.

Hi all,
Can anyone advice on where I stand with my job, I work at a certain hotel chain and they keep cancelling my shifts! This will be the 2nd shift this month they have cancelled because they are not busy. This is a regular occurrence I've only been there since October and it's happened every month without fail. They don't offer extra shifts they ask if I want to use my holiday so I still get paid which I do not do. They will also let me know at 6.30 am on the day I'm supposed to work. Tonight I've just been told not to come in tomorrow! I'm looking for another job but it's really annoying me surely there is laws or something around this. I'm not on a zero hours contract so my hours should be met surely?

Yeah they should pay you contracted hours

Have you spoken to ACAS?

If you have contracted hours, then they still need to pay you for your contracted hours.
Is this the first month / pay period that they have cancelled shifts?
If they have cancelled shifts in previous pay periods, what did your payslip say?
