Just got an email saying it’s paused (not enough work).
My salary pays to support me, my home and teenage son. Just.
The freelance work meant being able to do nice things - meal out, new clothes, driving lessons.
I’m a qualified professional in my mid 50s.
I thought it would be better than this.
I have no bargaining chip with my job, as I don’t have another to go to. I’ve only been here 3 months after being made redundant last Sept. I’m in a better position than then obv but this is not sustainable long term.
Just plonking this here so I don’t make a knee jerk call to my manager crying, asking him if he has any idea that him saying “we’re so glad to have your expertise and experience” isn’t really translating.
