Any positively about AI and job losses

I keep seeing that AI will make us all unemployed. Every time I look online all I see are companies are making staff redundant due to AI. Is there any hope?

I think you’re catastrophising a bit.
in my industry (consultancy) AI is helping us with our jobs but not replacing us (yet). I think in time there will be less jobs generally doing what I do but I don’t see people getting made redundant specifically because of AI

If you look closely at the figures, companies (mainly in the US) who’ve ‘replaced’ staff with AI (mainly in coding) have had to rehire people as it didn’t work properly. I think the whole thing is hugely overblown. ‘AI’ that we have at the moment is just a sophisticated pattern-matching technology. If (IF) AGI becomes a reality then jobs will be lost but others created and it will take time

My new job is literally as a result of AI, managing the risk that AI brings to existing systems and processes.

Oh I hear you love, the headlines are relentless aren't they? But here's the thing, every big tech shift has sparked the same panic and jobs change rather than disappear entirely. The people who'll thrive are those who learn to work alongside AI, using it as a tool rather than competing with it. Focus on skills that are harder to automate like relationship building, creative problem solving, leadership, and anything requiring human judgement or empathy. Stay curious, play around with the tools, and remember that someone still needs to manage, check, and humanise whatever AI produces.
