Can I take a mini UK break even though I sign on?

I've been claiming new style job seekers allowance for 4 months now. I'm burnt out with applying for jobs and attending job interviews and getting nowhere. I'm tearful and need a break just Mon-Fri in the UK somewhere. Am I allowed this?

Ignore the previous poster, they obviously don’t have any idea about the job market right now. Absolutely take a break, it’s soul destroying right now. Just explain to the advisor, I can’t see that they will sanction you. Enjoy the break and good luck!!

Going back years ago, I was sighing on and booked a 5 day break. I was advised it wouldn't affect my claim, I needed to attend a meeting with my advisor the day before going and the day I returned. Both of which I did. Sadly my claim still got cancelled and I lost my benefits, luckily I had got a job but I lost a month's worth of benefits .
