Why is it so hard to work and be a single mum, I have an 1 year old next week and I didn’t have child care for one shift as it was my mum and she couldn’t do it, I let my manager know. And now all I’m getting is abuse in a way, saying how I’m expected at work, I’m a nurse so I do 12.5 hours shifts, I do t understand what they want from me, do they want me to leave him for 12.5 on his own, as he have kinda said that the hospital is more iinportant x

In this is real then it is to you to arrange childcare, not your employer! For you and the child’s father to work out the logistics before you decide to have a child together.

It's really really hard and you have my sympathies.
I had quite a full on job. I tried to have some different options - childcare and then my mum and then a friend...
early years is so hard tho as they catch so much and I think employers should be more reasonable x

It’s really hard but you need back ups, I’m a single mum and a nurse, I had a childminder, used nursery and occasional asked my mum if it was an emergency.

Are you in the uk? I worked in the community as the hours are more child friendly.
