Nhs job adverts

Anyone got any advice please. Ive noticed some nhs jobs are only advertised for 4 days which seems quite short. Does this mean they already got someone for the job but still have to advertise?

Usually yes

It could be to prevent too many applications (often you see it state it will close early if they have too many applications).
There's lots of job freezes on across the nhs so less jobs could mean more applicants per job.
Apply as soon as you see a job and have everything ready to upload quickly.

When we advertise posts it is with a cap so once a certain number of applications are received, it will close automatically. There are currently a lot of applicants for every post being advertised, the last post advertised in my service closed after 2 days.

It means they’ve already had loads of applicants so they close it early.

Just to echo what PP have said, it’s usually due to the high volume of applications. It will often say that it may be closed early due to this reason. It’s not uncommon I’ve seen it in many scenarios and not just the NHS.

In my experience yes. It’s crap.

Yes it means someone is already lined up for it, it’s a bit shit really.
