Hello, I am really in the midst of a work crisis at the moment and am struggling to decide what to do.

I hate my job, I was promoted but the job isn't there at all even though its a good income, its all about dealing with court cases, complaints and dealing with a team who do not see me as an office manager at all. Lots of backstory here but not relevant.

I have been trying to have another kid since July 2024 and despite investigations into multiple miscarriages nothing has been found. Hubby and I are a month away from calling off the trying and just focusing on my wee DD, now considering her my miracle girl! I had been holding off leaving this current job as they are aware I have been trying and I have been here 5 years so I felt it the right time to go on mat leave.

I have seen a job i want to do, its term time only so off school holidays, short days, wages cover my outgoings plus a wee bit extra, its walkable from the house. These are the pros.

Cons are I currently collect my daughter at 1pm from nursery a few days a week and then drop her off at babysitters ( only until August when she will be at school) and although my hubby could do it at a push, if he ever was called out or had to go up North for work no one would be able to collect her. So thats a concern he raised.

I also wanted the week off to see her go to school for the first time in August, be there for drop off and pick up etc, holidays are booked in at current job. My mum also pointed out that if there were any school things during the day, it wouldn't be easy for me to get to see her given my hols have to be within school holidays.

The whole point of taking a wage cut was to be off on DD's holidays and see her grow up, be less angry all the time, less sad, for me to be more chill in a job that, yes will have stresses, but is not my current job stresses.

So, do I hold off until August and die a little more inside each month I am here at this job, or do I go for this new job and take the sacrifices of not seeing her first week etc

Thanks for the advice, been looking at jobs but nothing that works in my favour or I would have applied. Cheers though.
