Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 26/01/2026 11:09

I need to rewrite my CV to tailor it to a certain industry.

Where can I go to do this?

Your own brain maybe, that’s still a thing I’m sure!! 😂

I know there are people who offer this as a service but it’s probably costly and I wouldn’t trust anyone to not just use AI to get the job done quick….
so honestly: try your local Jobcentre advisors. Or if you have a gateway, they may have free workshops - I know ours does some on employment and that includes CV work.

I have used AI recently to tailor my CV. I gave it the CV I had written myself annd a job description and asked it how I could target my CV to that particular job. It’s wasn’t perfect but it really did set me up with a decent version and I was able to tweak it myself.
You could try finding a few jobs that interest you in the industry and ask AI how to develop your CV for them.

Run the CV and job description through Chatgbt and then tweak it accordingly so that it flows better. Take out anything which is more than 15 years ago (summarise very briefly rather than go into details about jobs that were a long time ago. Make sure your highest qualification is what employers see first. Keep it to 1 page if possible 2 pages max

Microsoft copilot! Put your current one in, put the job advert it and get it to do a targeted version. It obviously needs a thorough check through and some companies don’t like you using AI whereas others I’ve noticed use AI to review your CV.

Try to write it yourself or at least rewrite whatever AI produces. Some companies will spot AI and think negatively of it.
