Going from employed to self employed. Was it worth it for you?

I’m doing it and I’m bricking it!

Does anyone have any words of wisdom or successes stories so I’m not so scared?

I know the downsides of not having paid holidays and pension contributions, but Im hoping this can be a success for me so would love to hear from those of you who are making it work.

Would never look back. It is hard not having paid holidays etc, but my husband and I are both self employed and there's nothing like being your own boss and having that control in your life!

I hope this is how I feel this time next year @Beebel

It was worth it for me as I doubled my income for effectively the same job. Obviously no holiday pay but also equals not having to ask for annual leave and being able to go away when you please!

I love most aspects. Erratic payers are the big downside for me. Some months nothing hits my account and then I have a bonanza month. I have become more reluctant to spend as income is so unpredictable. The other downside is I have become rubbish at taking holiday. With no emails from HR saying you have x number of days to take before the end of the year I have found I end up taking very little. I’m determined to change that this year.
