A small dilemma..

I think I know what I'm going to do, but interested in what others think I should do.

I clerk for a board (part of a wider role, I'm not an expert clerk).

Papers were supposed to go out today for a meeting next week. I work odd hours, so it's not too late.

One of the key people is off sick so I don't have his contribution.

Would you upload papers without his contribution and a message saying he's off sick and they'll follow.

Upload what you have but wait to send the notification message? (Which would make it seem like you were late).

Do nothing until you have everything?

In theory the board should know he's off, but I don't know if they do (doubt it). I'm not sure I should be the one to give them his personal info. I don't know when he's off or if/when he's due back.

I’d do A, but just say “papers to follow”, with no further explanation.

That way you’ve done your job, made it clear that delays are not your fault and didn’t disclose anything that may be interpreted as personal information.

I’d upload the papers that you have, note that you’re awaiting X and not comment about him being off sick.

send what you have advising further papers to follow.

when you do get them reply to all off the back of the above email and attach the new papers. that way people will notice there were more last wednesday or whatever and dig them out too if they’ve forgotten.
