Restructure

We have just been told there is going to be a restructure at work and a meeting on Monday to discuss this. It says individuals will be consulted. We have had this before where no one was made redundant but some people’s jobs changed. The email has been marked as low priority. I don’t know why they have done this knowing some people will be worrying over the weekend.

Consulted = consultation period? Sounds like redundancy is looming, sorry OP

Companies usually wait to Friday to send out bad news to avoid the initial panicked questions. It will be a long period of uncertainty now and people will be worrying for far longer than just this weekend so best just prepare yourself for bad news Monday.

Agree with this.

The best thing to do would be to make sure your CV is up to date - I'd spend time over the weekend on that and on compiling a list of agencies you could register with and jobs you could apply to.

That way, if you do get told you may be made redundant, at least you have a plan in place.
