How would you handle this work offer/ jobs

I have worked in a casual role in company 1 for years, effectively permanent in all but the contract. It started to not really add up with the hours and the workload, basically unpaid gaps in some days. It used to fit my lifestyle the arrangement, but now I want more regular hours and with extra work it became less great.

I applied to a similar role elsewhere. Small world, everyone knows everyone kind of role. Company looked great, pay a bit higher, more responsibility.

Company 2 snapped me up, moved really fast with offers and starting up. Small world, so very little discussion- they knew my work.

Company 1 is larger and slower. One week after starting they’ve come back with a new offer. Really flexible offer, a salary and not causal. More responsibility, interesting and better hours.

Company 2 is not looking as great as I hoped, not bad at all, but they have their flaws I’m seeing early on.

Would you resign after one week? It doesn’t feel great, but the unexpected offer is good for me hours wise and I know the job.

Which job do your prefer? I would choose that and then work out a way to smooth things over with the other company - don't make the decision based on worry about how you'd be perceived leaving after 1 week

Job 1. I know it, I don’t feel the incessant to try the unknown

Then stick with company 1! You know the answer already :)
