When to chase for contract

I got offered a new job on 18/12 with a start date of 19/01 - however I have yet to have a contract through or any information on submitting a DBS check - at what point do I give the company a nudge? The head office and HR are based in Australia and I know it's also abit of an odd time with Christmas and NYE - however I'm also cautious that I really don't want to completely shut myself from any other opportunities until I have a contract signed

3rd January. Christmas and New Year are done and most people have returned to work. If it's an education or care setting then probably 5th January. If your start date is 19th you'll be extremely lucky to have a DBS done by then

That's my concern - theyve said I can't start until they have the DBS back - but they want to start everyone on the 19th together

In saying that my last 2 enhanced DBs have been back in around 4 days

My employer has offices in Australia, and the Aus offices close for a fortnight over Christmas. Apparently that's the norm there as everyone takes their summer and Christmas break together. I'd nudge middle of next week. Good luck in your new role.

All depends on what the backlog is like. Renewals take less time than a fresh workplace. I've had ones come back in a few days and memorably 1 took 12 weeks with much chasing

Makes sense although also a little frustrating 😂

Well I chased, got an offer letter sent yesterday which I signed within 20mins.... But still no contract or DBS info so it's not looking good for a 19th start date 😭😭
