Can I accept two conditional job offers from CS?

As it says in the title really. Two admin jobs in two different areas of Civil Service, both dependent on checks and references before unconditional offer given. Would it be bad form to accept both? I have a preference for one but it's slightly less money than the other, and the other has confirmed that I can do part time, although hours will be discussed if I get the offer through. Has anyone else done this before?

Why do you need to accept both? When I’ve received 2 offers I’ve been honest and said I have other interviews I needed to resolve a couple of questions, then went back to them both when I had the answers I needed (I didn’t take the piss, less than 2 days). I’ve also verbally accepted an offer whilst waiting for another outcome, but in typical CS style the formal offer took another couple of weeks by which time I got the offer I wanted, so I spoke with the hiring manager and then declined.

Yes recruitment takes a lot of time for those involved, but they’re being paid for it, it doesn’t trump your life. Be respectful, be honest when you can, don’t take the piss, but do what you need to do.

If there's something in your pre employment checks that disqualifies you from one wouldn't it be the same for the other? Just choose. It's a small world and pissing your future employer around before you've even started will do your reputation no favours

It’s the civil service. Yes you can accept both and go through the onboarding process and then properly decide

I mean, you can’t take it to the wire or anything but you have time yet to make a decision
