Seeking advice - any roles/industries hiring

I’ve found the job market extremely tough this past year.

I have worked a random mix of junior roles within financial services (few years in FS operations and before that junior marketing). I have soft skills and very willing to put the hours in - no dependants

Is there any junior role that is better to aim towards that perhaps has a talent shortage? I rarely come across any vacancies that require the same knowledge needed in my current role or if they do come up it’s way too competitive (perhaps worth me leaving IT operations as I’m only junior/ not skilled enough?)

I’ve paid a specialist to review my CV, and continue to amend depending on job ads I apply for.

I’m genuinely so scared for the future and would be immensely grateful if anyone knows of any suitable areas to consider pivoting to

Can you afford to retrain? If so, and you have good communication skills, you could look at moving g into an allied health professional role?

Suggest you find a good recruiter, they are worth building a good relationship with.

Thanks, unfortunately formal retraining wouldn’t be an option for me

Hi @Hostwithflair thanks for your suggestion, I don’t think recruiters care to help junior staff as much. I always thought recruiters will only be interested if you’re the easiest to place without much effort. Seeing as junior roles often have highest competition they don’t need to look for people as they’re likely swamped

Despite this I’ve still added recruiters on LinkedIn with personal invitations, and then sent polite messages introducing my background and types of roles I’m looking for. Always ignored but they accept my invitation request.
I’ve also signed up to smaller independent recruitment agency websites with my CV but don’t hear back.

A few years ago I was cold approached by two recruiters on LinkedIn with job offers (one location didn’t suit me and the other I didn’t pass interview) but now seems there’s far too much competition as no recruiter interested
