How long to hear back from a fresh claim of JSA?

I applied last Friday (21st Nov), but haven't heard back?

I last applied about 18 months ago and it took a few weeks, but they did backdate the payments when they came through (by which time I'd been offered a job, but it still helped!)

It took nearly a month after my application to be invited to an interview at the Job Centre. This was a few weeks ago and I am still waiting for the first payment.

Do you think it's because they're so busy? It's two weeks tomorrow I applied.

I applied on the 7th Oct, got an acknowledgement.
24th Oct was told they were processing the claim, via email.
1st Nov received outcome, via post.

I had been told new claims were taking a month to process.

All the best, it's pretty miserable.

Thank you. I'll just keep waiting then and will start using my savings. Yes, pretty grim especially this side of Christmas 😥
