Does any recruiter know? From CV to Shortlist

I had a flurry of calls from Recruitment Agencies having uploaded my CV online. They said promising things about how I would be a perfect fit for several roles they had. This was on Monday this week. If I had been shortlisted would I have been contacted by now? It would be really depressing if out of all the roles I had been put forward for none had wanted even an initial chat!

Did the agencies specify specific roles, share a job spec and ask you whether they could forward your CV?

In my experience it works one of two ways:

• they call to get you on the books and talk generically about roles and clients
• they are retained to send CVs for a particular role and you will have seen the spec, been given the name of the company (unless confidential until interview)

I keep a Trello board of my interactions with agencies and where they send my CV and I just follow up every 2-3 days until they tell me I wasn't shortlisted or that I have an interview, they should be letting you know either way, though sometimes they forget when it is a no.

YABU. You spoke to them on Monday and it’s only Wednesday. They’ve probably submitted your profile(s) to their client(s) but that doesn’t mean that the client(s) have reviewed them yet. People are busy!

Yes, they sent my CV to specific jobs. About 3 recruiters sending my CV to all together about 8/9 roles. I will email tomorrow to see if there has been feedback yet. It’s so stressful. I really need something.

It does take time. I check in with them regularly, but that is just to keep me top of mind really. The client reverts when they do.. I waited over a week for one recently and finally had the first interview yesterday.
